Summer Lovin

Summer is nearly here and Anthropology has some really fun new things to make the outdoors even more enjoyable!!

This outdoor furniture, named the High-Wire Act Set, would be perfect in our front yard.

Still No Dining Table

Yesterday, I went to the Long Beach Antique Market in search of a dining table, lamps, books and a few other items for clients, and came home with these instead....

I couldn't come home empty handed! Because my dining table search has been so unsuccessful, (and I'm just a little too picky) I've decided to make my own! Remeber that table I said I would kill for a few posts ago??? Get excited...

B Co. Loves Small Business!

I am just going to say it… I am one of those people who HAS to have coffee every morning, or else! Which is why I was so excited to hear my good friend Chad started his own coffee roasting company called the Gospel Swamp Coffee Roasters! Since both my husband and I are small business owners, we are very excited to support other small businesses whenever we can (and because we normally get a better product). So, after just a day and half of waiting for my coffee to arrive, the box was sitting on my front door step (love the packaging!) and lets just say the scent that came from that box, instantly put me in a better mood. Chad, sent me his personal favorites, roasted to order, with a handwritten note, "...Remember, 2 tblsp grounds per cup water. Enjoy". (Love the customer service!) Now, get on their website, support small business and enjoy Gospel Swamp Coffee Roster's amazing coffee!

What I received in the mail… Love the earthy vibe and the handwritten note!

While I was in school, I had an internship with Kelly Wearstler. To say it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life would be an understatement. The amount of information I learned, and being involved in such a unique creative process really changed me as a designer, not to mention all the incredible designers who are a part of her team. During the time I was there, I worked on the Viceroy Anguilla Spa and couldn't wait to see pictures of when it was completed after I left. Though these pics aren't of the spa, you can imagine how amazing it must be! Even more fabulous than I could've imagined...but what else would you expect from Kelly Wearstler.

PS. I might kill to have the dining table that's in the first/second image!

I was doing my morning go around of blogs today and my first stop is always Habitually Chic. Heather (founder of this brilliant blog) posted photos from a shoot she just did of the "bachelor pad" and gave her readers the low down on shooting interior spaces. My next shoot will definitely benefit...Read it!! Vignettes have always been a favorite of mine to view in magazines and blogs. They say a lot about the details that overall shots cant tell and create a definite mood. Here are some vignettes that inspire me...

I have this chest that I've been refinishing and I have such a specific idea of what I want for the hardware, it's been, IMPOSSIBLE to find. While I was (obsessively) searching out this perfect hardware, I came across The Nanz Company. I had browsed this site before, but never have I lusted over hardware like I did when I was reminded of the incredible knobs, pulls, latches, etc they have. I have yet to find out a price on any of these, but I probably don't want to know.

This one would be perfect in Burnished Brass!

My previous laptop finally died last week, after 5 faithful years, which is the reason for the very infrequent posts. Sorry about that. But don't you worry, because I just got a beautiful, new MacBook Pro and I'm very anxious to start blogging like a maniac, (and getting my work done, of course) so get excited. More to come!!

The Soho House Group is a group of hotel's and exclusive clubs that are scattered throughout London and New York. Each House has a very different feel, but all have one thing in common, the tubs are integrated into the living/sleeping spaces. I think I could get used to soaking next to the fireplace.

I realize that the John Derian pouf train arrived long ago, but it doesn't change the fact that I still love these adorable little poufs more than ever. They are hand made in Morocco and come in every color imaginable. They are handy when seating is limited, and sturdy enough to be portable side tables (my favorite trait since I am constantly moving my acrylic nesting tables around to accommodate my laptop). I think I would like 2 grey and 1 gold!

I've been lucky enough, despite the e*****y (I'm getting tired of that word) to find small design projects here and there to keep me busy and to keep the creative juices flowing. Most of the time I'm working at home on my laptop (literally on my lap) which, as you can imagine, is not the most inspirational, or comfortable situation. I'm constantly dreaming about what my office would be like if space allowed, and the little luxuries that would make my day so very enjoyable. This is what I came up with...two options of course.

The inspiration image comes from Chris Miller's office (Drew Barrymore's manager and publicist), designed by Ruthie Sommers. Miller describes it as, "sleek and understated but also warm and cozy..." PS. The blanket is because I'm ALWAYS cold, and gold paper clips make any stack of magazine tear-outs look very chic!

The National Gallery

While I was in London last month, I visited The National Gallery and fell in love with these two Monet's, above, The Thames below Westminster (London), and the lower, The Gare St-Lazare (Paris). I snatched up a postcard of each and want to have them framed together as a souvenir to remember my trip. There are obvious reasons why I adore these paintings, one, I love all things grey (and they are perfect for each other!), and two, they display almost everything I love about each place; the art, the history, the architecture, the charm, and yes, the cold. Welcome to my blog! This is my first attempt at blogging so excuse the first little hiccups that will inevitably happen :). I've been a long-time follower of blogs like Habitually Chic, and The Sartorialist and think its a really great way to organize your creative ideas, and new finds, while sharing them with everyone else. I love the idea of having all of my magazine rip outs, and inspiration all in one place. Viewing this blog will give you a good idea of the styles that inspire me, the designers I admire, and the beautiful things and places I appreciate.
